SUMMARY:AIR EP Member Day Lower EP (Cummins\, 3 July 2024)
DESCRIPTION:  \n\nLearn about our speaker Kate Burke \nKate Burke founded Think Agri Pty Ltd after identifying a need for corporate and institutional investors to have access to astute experience based advice when considering key agri-investment decisions. Knowing the right questions to ask is fundamental to sound decision making. Kate’s 26 years of experience forms a library of critical questions to ask about any agricultural investment. \nKate also recognised that leading farm families could further improve their performance by taking the lead from corporate business practices when it comes to business planning and reporting. This is especially the case for any farm business considering intergenerational succession or contemplating accessing external capital from sources other than traditional debt funding via lending institutions. \nKate is a highly experienced independent farm consultant with a PhD in agronomy. Kate spent time in the corporate sector as commercial manager of one of the largest grain producers in Australia and knows what it takes to run a profitable farm business. \nThis background enables Think Agri to offer the very best strategic advice and guidance to investors and family farmers alike. \nEqually comfortable in boots or suits\, Kate’s great people skills and high level of expertise can help you to thrive in the agricultural industry\, so contact us today to find out more.

DESCRIPTION:AIR EP will be holding their AGM on Wednesday 9 October 2024. \nVia Zoom \n8:30am-9:30am \nAll members are welcome and encouraged to attend. To receive a link to the event\, please email Executive Officer Naomi Scholz eo@airep.com.au \nAGENDA \n1            Welcome – Bill Long\, Chair \n2             Apologies \n3             Minutes of previous AGM \n4             Business arising from the previous AGM \n5             Chairman’s Report \n6             Annual Report \n7            Financial Report and appointment of auditor \n8             Business \na.            Nominations to the Board \nb.             Special Resolutions (detailed below) to change to Constitution. \nc.             Any other business. \n9             Close meeting \n  \nThe following Special Resolutions will be proposed at the meeting: \n\nThat clause 6.2(a)(i) of the Constitution be amended to read “At least three (3) but no more than seven (7) members appointed and approved at an annual general meeting of Members; and”\nThat clause 3(b) be amended to read “To promote agriculture excellence within the region by encouraging sharing of information and resources.”\nThat clause 3(d) be amended to read “To engage with existing community organisations to participate in steering the direction of future agricultural research and development in the region.”\n\nThe reason for the proposed resolution 1 is to increase the number of Board members from five (5) members to seven (7) members which will bring the total Board membership to 9 (nine) members\, plus ex-officio members. This will enable the organisation to maintain the cross section of skills required to manage the business of the organisation and strategic direction of the Board. \nThe reason for the proposed resolutions 2 and 3 is to correct some typographical errors which were in the original version of the constitution. There is no change to the substance of either of those clauses.
