On Farm Emergency Water infrastructure rebate scheme

Details

The Government of South Australia in partnership with the Australian Government is providing a rebate of up to 25 per cent (to a maximum of $25,000 – GST exclusive) to primary producers for the costs associated with the purchase and installation of new on-farm water infrastructure, or to repair or replace damaged infrastructure for livestock and permanent horticulture that:

  • addresses animal welfare needs during drought
  • assists primary producers to be more resilient for future droughts
  • assists primary producers to be more resilient for future droughts by protecting high value horticultural assets
  • support primary producer recovery from Natural Disasters.

Amounts

The total funding available for this program is $8 million.The Australian Government is providing a 12.5 per cent rebate (up to $12,500) matched by the Government of South Australia (up to $12,500) to be able to offer a rebate of up to 25 per cent (max $25,000 per primary producer).

The On Farm Connectivity Program 

The On Farm Connectivity Program (the program) will run over 2 years from 2023-24 to 2024-25. This program forms part of the Better Connectivity for Rural and Regional Australia Plan (Better Connectivity Plan) and assists primary producers to take advantage of digital agribusiness solutions to boost productivity and improve safety.

The objectives of the program are:

  • extend digital connectivity and take advantage of advanced farming technology
  • enhance a primary producers’ capacity to implement digital agribusiness solutions through improved connectivity
  • capitalise on the agricultural sector’s potential for increased productivity and growth
  • support access to new communications equipment by offsetting some of the cost.

The grant (rebate) amount will be up to 50 per cent of the cost of eligible equipment item/s listed at Appendix B of the grant opportunity guidelines.

  • The minimum grant (rebate) amount is $3,000.
  • The maximum grant (rebate) amount is $30,000.

eID Device Rebates

Key dates

Applications close on 30 April 2024 at 5 pm.Eligible eID tags must be purchased between 1 January and 31 December 2023.

Rebate details

Applications for the electronic identification (eID) device rebate are open to sheep and farmed goat producers who purchase 2023 year-of-birth NLIS-accredited tags.

The eID device rebate is part of the Government of South Australia’s stage 1 support package to assist primary producers in transitioning to the national eID traceability system for sheep and goats.

Amounts

You can apply for a rebate on the purchase price of eligible eID devices of 50% up to a cap of $0.95 (GST exclusive) per tag.

AgTech Producer Group Fund

Applications are now open and will close at 11:59 pm (ACST) on 19 February 2024.

The AgTech producer groups will conclude by 31 May 2025.

Fund details

The AgTech producer groups support producers in harnessing technology for industry-specific improvements.

Funding is available to groups across all primary production sectors. It enables activities that:

  • explore and share AgTech experiences and knowledge
  • upskill producers and teach the benefits of AgTech
  • help producers to implement and apply technology advancements in their business enterprises.

Amounts

Eligible applicants can apply for funding of up to $18,500 (GST exclusive).
