An initiative of Grain Producers SA (GPSA), the South Australian Grain Industry Awards recognise individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the state’s largest agricultural contributor.

GPSA Chief Executive Officer Brad Perry said the inaugural awards attracted 300 guests to Adelaide Oval and shone a spotlight on the depth of talent and dedication within South Australia’s grain industry.

“The South Australian Grain Industry Awards are about celebrating the people driving our state’s grain sector forward and highlighting their outstanding efforts,” Mr Perry said.

“Whether it’s through innovation, sustainability, or leadership, these awards recognise those making a lasting difference in their communities and across the industry.

“Last year’s response was incredible, and we’re excited to once again open nominations to celebrate the best our industry has to offer.”

The awards include six categories:

  • Grain Producer of the Year (sponsored by Elders)
  • Young Grain Producer of the Year (sponsored by PIRSA)
  • Innovation Award (sponsored by Bayer)
  • Sustainability Award (sponsored by SA Drought Hub)
  • Women in Grain Award (sponsored by Bunge)
  • Industry Impact Award (sponsored by Cargill)

Winners of each category award will receive cash prizes, while the Sustainability Award winner will receive a bursary.

In addition, the South Australian Grain Industry Hall of Fame will again honour individuals, both living and posthumous, who have made long-standing contributions to the state’s grain industry.

“The Hall of Fame is about recognising those who have built the strong foundations of our industry,” Mr Perry said.

“We encourage everyone — from growers and researchers to industry professionals — to consider nominating someone who has inspired them or made an impact, for consideration to be inducted.”

Nominations are now open and will close on Monday, 10 November 2025. Finalists will be announced on 15 November 2025, with winners revealed at the South Australian Grain Industry Awards Gala Dinner on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, at Adelaide Oval, held between the two-day GRDC Adelaide Updates.
