Farmer’s Yarn session coming up – Thursday 9 April 2026

| Posted in

The next Farmers’ Yarn Live on Air session is coming up this Thursday 9 April, as part of the project Grain Automate, a GRDC initiative aimed at accelerating the adoption of machine automation, autonomy and digital technologies by Australian grain growers.

The Farmers’ Yarn sessions are all about keeping things practical and down-to-earth, bringing growers, advisers and industry together to talk through what’s actually happening on farm right now. What’s working, what’s not, and what’s shaping decisions.

This month’s guests are:

Dave Finlay, MPT.ag
Dave will talk through his work on a semi-autonomous seeding system that adjusts to real-time soil moisture, along with what he’s seeing on his own mixed farming operation in central NSW.

Chris Heinjus, Pinion Advisory
Chris will share a practical take on managing risk in volatile commodity markets, including price and decision-making considerations.

This isn’t formal webinar, more of a guided conversation with plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion.
