Livestock SA is calling for final nominations for the 2025 Biosecurity Farmer of the Year Award. This award recognises individuals, groups, or organisations in the red meat or wool industries who are setting the standard in biosecurity excellence. There’s still time to shine a spotlight on South Australia’s biosecurity champions, but nominations close this Sunday 21 September.

Nominees should demonstrate:

  • Planning: A current farm biosecurity plan in place.
  • Prevention: Active practices to reduce the spread of pests, weeds, and diseases.
  • Recordkeeping: Evidence of biosecurity activities such as training, procedures, or logs.
  • Management: Strong understanding of animal health and welfare.
  • Collaboration: Working with others to improve biosecurity across the industry.

The winner will be invited to receive their award at the Livestock SA Industry Dinner on 19 November and will receive a prize of $1000, an Adelaide Oval RoofClimb Experience for two and will be automatically nominated for the 2026 Australian Biosecurity Awards.
