Get to know your soils: free assessments now available
Do you have an area where soil constraints are limiting your crop or pasture production? Want to better understand the issue and what you might be able to do to fix it?
A limited number of free site assessments are now available to help growers investigate what soil issues might be causing crops or pasture to underperform in specific areas of paddocks and options for managing them. We know you’re busy at the moment, but now’s the time to notice poorer performing areas and book in a visit for later on.
Areas that consistently underperform, have uneven crop growth or disappointing results can raise questions about what’s holding a paddock back. An on-site discussion with a soils technical officer, combined with soil field analysis (and limited targeted soil chemistry analysis where appropriate), can help you to better understand potential constraints and provide a starting point to consider possible management strategies or for further investigation.
Following your assessment, you will receive a written report summarising the findings, giving you a useful reference to support future soil management decisions.
If you have a particular problem area in mind and want a better understanding of the limitations and potential of your soil in this area, this is an opportunity to take a closer look and discuss your concerns.
