Into Ag program for young adults wanting to try farming

| Posted in

‘Into Ag’ is a four-day introductory program for young adults who might want to give farming a try. It has been designed for school and university leavers, who are interested in pursuing a career on-farm. The young adults will stay in Cleve for the week, and participate in a range of farm safety, communication, GPS, and livestock training. The program has been designed so that they can walk straight out of the four days and into a job on farm. We also have registered new farm employees, who are using it as a professional development opportunity.

This program has been designed to sit alongside formal agricultural training such as the Cert 3 and 4 certificates. I see it acting as a small introductory program for young adults, where they can have a taste without committing to a full study program.

Thanks to our sponsors, we do have some ‘no-charge’ spaces available for young people that want to work, but who do not have the $550 available to cover the course cost.

Registrations can be made by following this link – https://events.humanitix.com/getting-into-ag

Please note that all accommodation, meals, and transport is covered in the registration fee. Registrations will close on Friday 3rd March.
