Rural Bank Insights Update May 2024

Eyes are on the skies as autumn seasonal conditions around the country have been a mixed bag. Winter crop planting is underway with favourable soil moisture in QLD and NSW while southern states and WA are in urgent need of rainfall.

Milk processors are due to announce opening farmgate milk prices for the new season in the next month. Prices are set to open lower than the current season.

Livestock prices are holding up well under the impact of increased supply. Strengthening export demand is helping to support prices.
