Rural Bank June Insights: Commodities impacted by significant announcements this month

The start of winter has brought with it some major announcements for agricultural commodities. Firstly, opening bids for farmgate milk prices have been announced. While being the third highest season on record, an average price across major processors falls 15 per cent below current season prices.

On a more positive note, beef exports to China are set to improve following the removal of suspensions on a number of Australian beef processors.

Most areas around the country received some rainfall recently but more is needed for good crop establishment and pasture growth to carry livestock producers through winter.
