Sponsor Update | Farmer Testimonial from Hopetoun, WA

Long-standing customers of Alvan Blanch Australia, Stott and Charmaine saw an opportunity to enhance efficiency by upgrading their Alvan Blanch mobile dryer. With the new system, they can now dry more tonnes per hour and monitor its performance remotely via a mobile device, ensuring both productivity and convenience.

Their commitment to adopting cutting-edge technology continues to drive success on their farm.

The Challenge

The Redman Farms drying process has always been key to helping harvesting efficiency, but they wanted more capacity from their dryer. As harvest is a very busy time, and there are many tasks that need to be completed on the run, Stott wanted the ability to watch the dryer remotely from a mobile device, so they weren’t tied to the dryer.

“One of my top priorities during harvest is ensuring the grain's moisture percentage is low enough for delivery to the local grain receival site”, says Stott.

The new dryer was tasked with achieving the ideal moisture level, regardless of the grain's initial moisture at harvest.

The Solution

The all-new design of the MDF 33500 features a digital PLC monitor, allowing users to log in remotely and monitor the dryer’s performance from a mobile device.

How can we be certain about the moisture coming out of the dryer? For this we introduced the Dryer Master DM 510.  After initial calibration, the Dryer Master takes control, automatically adjusting the dryer’s speed to ensure the average moisture of the dried grain stays below the desired set point. This automated system responds to variations in incoming moisture from the headers, speeding up or slowing down the dryer as needed. Best of all, it can be monitored remotely from a mobile device.

The Outcome

Already familiar with the Alvan Blanch dryer, the Redman family are thrilled with the increased capacity and the added convenience of remote viewing. Having the Alvan Blanch dryer to efficiently dry the grain to the required moisture percentage for delivery to the receival site, gives the Redman family the confidence to get out in the paddock sooner and finish later if needed, making harvest much easier.

“It has been good that I can be doing other things (during harvest) whilst watching the dryer on my iPad”, says Stott.
