Research Officer – Soils (Port Lincoln)
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and driven Research Officer to join the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
Based at the Port Lincoln Marine Science Centre, this role is part of the Agronomy Program in Crop Sciences. The role contributes to delivering SARDI’s priority of leading and conducting innovative research to increase productivity of our primary industries for the benefit of South Australia.
The primary purpose of the role is to contribute to/deliver externally funded research projects focused on low to medium rainfall mixed farming systems by the SARDI Agronomy program. The Research Officer will contribute to or lead the delivery of trial research, extension and outcomes of soils based research projects, and soil investigation and extension projects under the direction of Senior Research Scientist, Soils (NRC).
Requirements
- Located at our Port Lincoln Marine Science Centre
- Possession of drivers licence and willing to drive
- Out of hours work and inter/intrastate travel may be required
- You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations
- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies
- Essential: A bachelor’s degree of Agriculture Science or equivalent
- Desirable: A post-graduate degree in Soils, Agricultural Science or equivalent
Remuneration
The successful candidate will be offered the role at either the PO1 or PO2 classification level, commensurate with skills and experience.
PO1 $66,469 – $81,142
PO2 $85,665 – $94,801
