Are you having issues with P response in your crops?

| Posted in

Are you seeing poor P fertiliser responses? Got high P-fixing soils? Not sure?

High P-fixing soils rapidly convert applied P fertiliser into immobile forms that are poorly available to plants. It can mean:

  • yield reductions of up to 50%
  • low P use efficiency
  • poor return on fertiliser investment.

A new 4-year GRDC investment led by Agriculture Victoria aims to improve grower and adviser confidence in identifying and managing high P-fixing soils to help improve yields and return on fertiliser investment.

If you’ve got high P-fixing soils, or think you may have, we’re keen to hear from you about how you identify these soils, the challenges they create, and your current management strategies.
