For robust and sustainable businesses in the future we need an improved ability to identify and analyse potential enterprise costs, benefits and risks; have the flexibility to change the system in response to market and season; and the need to maintain networks and relevant information flow.
Dr Chris Preston, University of Adelaide challenged if weeds are driving rotations; getting the right break on brome grass; trifluralin resistance a growing problem; and the use of emergence chemicals.
John Heap, SARDI delivered information on using precision agriculture for weed control, site specific week management.
Andrew Jacobs, University of Adelaide spoke on tomorrow’s harvest, what’s next in the biotech pipeline, new technologies and discoveries.
Clive Kirby, CSIRO delivered messages on building and retaining soil carbon.
